Thus, finding the right dual diagnosis treatment center Virginia residents can trust is vital to get back to full physical and mental health. Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center Virginia

At Insight Into Action Therapy, we’ve developed a unique dual diagnosis treatment center Virginia residents can look to when dealing with both addiction and mental health issues.

Co-founders Cyndi Turner and Craig James developed our Dual Diagnosis Recovery Program© (DDRP) to assist individuals and their families dealing with mental health issues, substance use disorders, and/or process addictions like pornography, gaming, gambling, overeating, and shoplifting. The dual diagnosis treatment program incorporates age-appropriate and phase-specific treatment for any stage in recovery.

Further, our Dual Diagnosis Recovery Program© stands out from other drug and alcohol dual diagnosis treatment programs in several ways. First, our therapists are experts who receive ongoing training. Collaborating with a treatment team, they use evidence-based models tailored to fit each client’s specific needs avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach. Second, Insight Into Action Therapy understands not everyone who drinks or uses drugs is an alcoholic or addict. There is a spectrum of substance use and through interviewing and psychiatric evaluations we determine different levels of treatment. Third, we do not require 12-Step recovery meetings. Rather than force individuals into treatment they aren’t interested in or won’t serve their needs, we believe in therapeutic options where clients know their goals, are comfortable, and willing participants. 12 Step programs can work, but they are not appropriate for everyone.

Finally, our goal is to help clients find balance. Substance use affects the individual, but it also impacts family, work, friends, and loved ones. Because of this, clients need to understand how their lifestyle contributes to or hinders their own mental and physical health and that of others.

5 Phases of the Dual Diagnosis
Recovery Program©

At Insight Into Action Therapy, we address four key areas–recovery/sobriety, mental and physical health, primary support, and education/employment. When clients enter our dual diagnosis recovery program, they’ll not only move progressively through the five phases but also benefit from other supplemental therapies unique to their needs. The five phases include:

null

Evaluation

We begin with a clinical interview followed by standardized measurement tools, drug screen, Breathalyzer, coordination with involved professionals, and referral to appropriate treatment levels. This allows our team to understand each client’s physical requirements and the degree of need they are in terms of addiction.

null

Education

Our goal is to help clients and their families self-assess and learn the signs, symptoms, and solutions for behaviors that brought them into treatment. Education helps clients and families make healthier choices regarding behaviors, thus reducing negative consequences.

null

Primary Treatment

Often, this is the longest and most intensive part of our dual diagnosis treatment center in Virginia. The primary treatment phase may include group, individual, family, or couples counseling as well as drug/alcohol screening. Rather than set a specific amount of time strictly and broadly applied to every client, we view successful completion due to progress. When clients make gains in the four areas mentioned above, they are successful. Thus, for each client, this process will progress along a different timeline.

null

Relapse Prevention

We strive to minimize the frequency, impact, and duration of a relapse. We are realists. Relapse may happen. What matters most is how clients respond to that relapse. Thus, clients learn their warning signs and develop a personalized relapse prevention plan while knowing they are supported no matter what happens.

null

Maintenance

Those who complete treatment through this phase have higher rates of success. May include periodic individual or family sessions and drug/alcohol screening.
